Date: Thursday 29 October 2020
Time: 1000-1100

For this month’s CPD session, we will have two presentations:

“Digital Towers” presented by Kate Madden
Digital Towers have the potential to change air traffic management at aerodromes, what does this mean for aviation?

“B777-300 Economy Seat Upgrade: Head Impact Criteria (HIC) Pre-Certification Testing” presented by Matt Pepler
During the upgrade of Air NZ’s B777-300 economy seats in 2017, certain aspects of the seats were modified or replaced (seat back, in-flight entertainment screen, meal tray, armrest and head rest, among other items). These changes were deemed major, such that subsequent Head Impact Criteria (HIC) tests were required for certification. This presentation briefly introduces some of the aspects involved during this pre-certification HIC testing.
