Blenheim Branch Meeting "A Drone View from Across the Ditch"

Tim will provide an (updated) insight on the Australian RPAS [Remotely piloted aircraft system]* skyscape and the current CASA regulatory projects that have been recently consulted on and the impacts on the RPAS industry.He will give an overview of some of the operations that some Australian RPAS operators have been conducting within Australia and overseas, including Vanuatu and Zimbabwe.
Tim will also talk about how and what an ethical regulator could look like and what can be done to help shape one that regulates ethically. Tim works for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) in Canberra for the past 9.5 years, five of these as a research and analysis officer in the RPAS Branch.
Tim attended Tauranga Boys College before enrolling at Massey University where he obtained a Bachelor of Aviation Management and a Masters of Aviation (Hons). He holds an Australian Remote Pilot Licence and is an active model aircraft pilot.
