Presentation on the building of Highlander ZK-MCQ Aircarft

PRESENTATION SPEAKERS : Neil McHugh & Hugh McCarroll

Neil will be giving a presentation on the building of his aircraft, a Highlander ZK-MCQ, from construction to flying status. It has been seen flying in Raglan and Te Kowhai and looks to be an interesting presentation.

Hugh will give a short presentation on his recent design entry in a NASA international competition to solve a long term human life situation for living in space. Out of some 20000 world wide entries, Hugh's entry was classed in the top 25 of those entries. Come and hear how this was rated. Congratulations Hugh, we look forward to your presentation.

BRANCH RANTINGS


AGM OUTCOME: Warrick has stood down as Hon/Sec but will continue as Vice/Chmn. He will also continue taking an active part in endeavoring to get quality speakers for our meetings. Hugh McCarroll continues the roll as our Chairman and will be seen more often taking the front line as spokesman in our meetings. I will continue as Treasurer with added responsibility as the Hon/Sec. and to collate contact details and newsletter information. The Committee members were returned unopposed. These were Alan Reynolds, Jon Wenham and Bob Wadley.

LIBRARY: Many thanks to Gina and Warrick in the sorting of all our library books (273),144 dvds and 149 videos from the storage room and cataloging these onto our RAeS laptop data-base and ensuring each has a card. So if you want to loan any items, fill out the cards leave it in the card box near the library. We have a great collection of books and many have never been read so we will be concentrating on displaying them for the next few months and some DVDs. Initiatives are underway for some form of portable book shelving in the future. While we are on the subject, would you all please check that you don't have any books,dvds or videos that should be returned for cataloging. At present we have some cards that have no home. Thanks everyone.

HELP: There are some members who get to the meetings early and help with the set-up of the tables and chairs. Please note we have to put everything back as it was at the end of the meeting. We will also need a hand with bringing down all the gear from our lockup upstairs and this has to be put away after the meeting. Please be aware not to put any furniture on the tiled area in front of the bar and elsewhere. We are required to vacate the premises no later than 10pm at management request. This help both ends of the meet will be very much appreciated. Thank you.
